Marijuana Possession

USE OF MARIJUANA
Marijuana Use in Michigan: While marijuana use is considered the least serious marijuana-related charge, it is still classified as a misdemeanor offense. If there is evidence of smoking, using, or consuming marijuana, you can be charged with marijuana use. Penalties for marijuana use can include up to 90 days in jail and a $1000 fine.
Driving Consequences: For a first offense, there is a 6-month suspension of your driver's license, but you may be eligible for a restricted license after 30 days. However, if we can secure a plea of 7411, you will likely be able to retain your license in most courts. A second offense results in a 1-year suspension, with the possibility of obtaining a restricted license after 60 days.
