Underage DUI/DWI

Important things to know if charged with a DUI/DWI:

 

First Offense:

  • License may be restricted for 30 days.

  • Required to complete up to 360 hours of community service.

  • Fine of $250 and $500 Driver Responsibility Fee for two years.

  • Two points added to driving record.

 

Second Offense (within 7 years):

  • License suspension for 90 days to one year.

  • Required to complete up to 60 days of community service.

  • Fine of $500 and $500 Driver Responsibility Fee for two years.

  • Four points added to driving record.

 

Court Penalties:

  • First conviction: $100 fine.

  • Second conviction (any alcohol or drug-related offense): $200 fine, 30-day license suspension or 60-day restriction.

 

Third Offense:

  • $500 fine.

  • License restricted for 305 days or suspended for 60 days.

  • Required community service and alcohol screening.

 

Fake ID Penalty:

  • Using fake ID to buy liquor: 93-day imprisonment and/or $100 fine. Alcohol screening may be ordered.
     

Transporting Alcoholic Beverages:

  • Must be accompanied by a person over 21; otherwise, charged with Misdemeanor.

 

Refusing Preliminary Breath Test (PBT):

  • Two points added to driving record.
     

Note: Penalties for drivers over 21 may also apply to minors convicted of DUI/DWI.
